History of CIHSI
The Community Integrity and Heritage Support Initiative (CIHSI) was formally established in the early part of 2021 as a direct response to widespread national calls for increased political awareness and the urgent need to enthrone good governance in Nigeria. Following prolonged periods of military rule and subsequent challenges in leadership, a collective desire for improved civic participation resulted in the formation of the Integrity Governance Action Group (IGAG). This initial action group was subsequently registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and began operating as CIHSI, focusing on translating the desire for integrity and good governance into tangible, grassroots development.
CIHSI is anchored by a clear vision: to ensure strong stakeholder involvement in instituting and operating an integrity-driven government. Our mission extends beyond mere advocacy to the proactive support of empowerment and economic growth, emphasizing the development of home-grown solutions for societal transformation. Crucially, we are dedicated to supporting the facilitation of cultural and heritage renaissance, alongside ensuring robust security and protection for assets, life, and properties within our focus communities.
To achieve this vision, CIHSI focuses on several key areas, including facilitating programs for full and productive employment, promoting cultural and heritage renaissance, and supporting agencies that ensure the security of life and property. We actively work to promote enlightenment and education on matters of integrity governance and establish linkage institutions that drive sustainable development. Starting our operations within the South West region and the Yoruba-speaking enclaves of Delta, Kogi, and Kwara States, our ultimate goal is the holistic protection, empowerment, and wealth creation for grassroots communities across Nigeria, particularly for youths and women.
