About IGAG
The Integrity Governance Action Group (IGAG) represents the foundational phase and initial operational name of what is now the Community Integrity and Heritage Support Initiative (CIHSI).
In the early part of 2021, a pervasive call arose across Nigeria for renewed political awareness and active participation in the process of establishing genuine good governance, following years marred by military rule and subsequent challenges in leadership. This urgent civic movement galvanized concerned citizens who were committed to making integrity the core principle of governance.
The Commissioning and Transformation
This collective drive resulted in the commissioning of the Integrity Governance Action Group (IGAG). The group’s primary mandate was to be an action-oriented entity focused on driving community-level political awareness and demanding transparency.
Recognizing the need for a structure dedicated to holistic community-based development—one that integrates economic empowerment and cultural preservation alongside integrity—the group was later formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and rebranded as the Community Integrity and Heritage Support Initiative (CIHSI).
Today, while the formal name is CIHSI, the spirit of IGAG remains. The acronym serves as a constant reminder of the organization’s origin: a dynamic, action-first movement dedicated to realizing Integrity Governance from the grassroots upward. Every CIHSI member, commissioned as a Yoruba Community Integrity Agent (Y-CIA), continues the legacy of action and commitment started by IGAG.
CIHSI
The Community Integrity and Heritage Support Initiative (CIHSI) was formally established in the early part of 2021 as a direct response to widespread national calls for increased political awareness and the urgent need to enthrone good governance in Nigeria.
